About these answers

These are the questions Irish businesses actually ask Oxus Technologies before starting a project, answered directly. Where a question depends on the specifics of your business, we have said so rather than given a vague number.

For more detail, see about Oxus, what we do, or the free operational audit.

Frequently asked questions

What does Oxus Technologies do?

Oxus Technologies is a Dublin-based software company that helps Irish businesses streamline their processes and automate their admin work. We audit how a business runs day to day, then build the automation, system integrations and custom software that remove the manual steps. Every engagement starts with a free operational audit.

What does "automating admin work" actually mean in practice?

It means taking a task a person currently does by hand, repeatedly, and making a computer do it instead. Typical examples: an order arriving by email appears in your system without anyone typing it; a certificate expiry generates a reminder 30 days out; a day's takings reconcile themselves rather than being added up on paper; a signed contract files itself under the right client.

Are you a web design company?

No. Oxus builds operational software: automation, integrations, databases, portals and platforms. The work is about what happens inside your business rather than how it presents itself to the public.

What size of business do you work with?

Mostly Irish SMEs. The businesses that benefit most are the ones that have outgrown the systems holding them together: enough volume that manual admin is genuinely expensive, but not so large that they already employ people to solve it internally.

What industries do you work in?

Any industry. Oxus has built software for delivery depots, hospitality and retail groups, transport fleets and property, and works regularly with creative studios, schools and training providers, phone shops, medical clinics, construction firms and wholesalers. That is a list of examples rather than a list of requirements. The problem we solve does not change between sectors: somebody is retyping information, somebody is chasing paperwork, and some date nobody is watching is about to pass. See industries.

How much does it cost?

The operational audit is free. After that, Oxus quotes one fixed project fee, agreed before work starts, based on a blueprint you have already read. We do not publish a price list because the figure depends entirely on what the audit finds, and quoting before seeing your processes would mean guessing. What is fixed is the structure: you will know the price before you commit, and it does not move afterwards.

Do you charge day rates?

No. Every build is a fixed project fee. Day rates give a supplier a financial interest in a project taking longer, and we would rather not have that incentive. It also means scope creep is our problem rather than an extra invoice for you.

Is the operational audit really free?

Yes, genuinely free, with no obligation to buy anything afterwards. It is also how we work out whether we can help you. If an off-the-shelf tool would solve your problem more cheaply than anything we would build, or if a process is not yet worth automating, we will say so.

What is the retainer for, and is it compulsory?

The retainer covers continuous monitoring, security updates, API maintenance and priority support after launch. It is optional. It exists because software does not stand still: the systems you connect to will change their APIs, dependencies need security patches, and an automation nobody maintains eventually becomes a liability rather than an asset.

How does an Oxus project work from start to finish?

There are four stages. 1. The operational audit - free, usually 45 to 90 minutes, a structured look at where your admin bottlenecks are. 2. The solution blueprint - a comprehensive three-page document mapping out the automated database layout and pipeline we would build. 3. The build - one agreed fixed project fee, no creep. 4. The retainer - optional ongoing monitoring, security updates and API maintenance. You can stop after any stage.

How long does a project take?

It depends on scope, and you get a timeline at blueprint stage before committing. Connecting two existing systems so they stop needing double entry is a much shorter piece of work than building a platform from scratch. We would rather give you an accurate date at blueprint stage than an optimistic one at first contact.

How much of our time will this take?

Most of the demand on your team is at the start: the audit itself, and the questions that come out of writing the blueprint. That is deliberate, because assumptions are cheap to correct at blueprint stage and expensive to correct after a build. During the build, involvement is mainly review points.

Do you work on site or remotely?

Both. Oxus is based in Dublin 12 and will come to your premises for the audit where practical, because watching the work happen is usually more revealing than hearing it described. The build itself is done remotely, with review points as agreed.

Will we have to replace the software we already use?

Usually not. Connecting the tools you already own is normally cheaper, faster and less disruptive than replacing them, and your team already knows how to use them. Oxus recommends replacement only when the existing tool genuinely cannot do the job. See systems integration.

What happens to our data? Is it secure?

Automation and integrations are built as secure pipelines with encrypted transport, credentials held in managed secret storage rather than embedded in code, and access scoped to the minimum each system needs. Before anything is built we will walk you through exactly what data moves where and where it is stored. Where we migrate a business off paper or a legacy system, historic records are preserved through the transition rather than replaced in place.

Who owns the software you build for us?

Software commissioned and paid for as a client build is yours. That is separate from the Oxus platforms - FleetMain, Reckon, DepotIQ, Invoicer and Beamwise - which are our own products, owned and operated by us and offered as services. We make clear which model applies before work starts.

What if the automation breaks after you have finished?

Something will eventually change: a supplier deprecates an API endpoint, an authentication method is retired, a data format shifts. The retainer covers monitoring and maintenance precisely for this. Integrations are also built to fail loudly rather than silently, so a problem surfaces as an alert rather than as a discrepancy discovered at month end.

What if we are not happy with the build?

The blueprint stage exists to make that unlikely, because you approve a detailed specification and a fixed price before any build work begins. Disagreements about what was supposed to be built are the most common source of unhappy software projects, and a document both sides signed off removes most of them.

Do you work outside Dublin?

Yes. Oxus is based on Greenhills Road, Walkinstown, Dublin 12, and works with businesses across Ireland. Where travel is impractical the audit runs by video call instead.

We still work mostly on paper. Is it too early for us?

No, that is a good position to start from. Businesses running on paper have no legacy software to untangle and no migration from a half-working system. Legacy-to-cloud migration for paper-heavy offices - medical clinics, construction firms, wholesalers - is a core part of what Oxus does. See custom software and cloud migration.

Can we start small?

Yes, and it is often the right approach. Automating one specific recurring task is a legitimate project, not a lesser version of a real one. It also gives both sides evidence before committing to anything larger.

How do we get started?

Request a free operational audit: use the form on the homepage, email info@oxus.ie, call +353 83 358 9301, or message us on WhatsApp. We usually come back within one working day.

Still unsure?

The cheapest way to find out is to ask us.

The operational audit exists precisely for the questions a website cannot answer, because they depend on how your business actually runs. It is free and it commits you to nothing.
